Lucky Restaurant opened its doors in St Paul, MN, just a month ago, but the hands behind the kitchen bring 10 years of cooking experience to every dish. We wanted a place on University Avenue where families, students, and neighbors could sit down to real halal food made with care, and where nothing on the menu ever needs a second thought about how it was prepared. Everything here is halal, start to finish.

Our menu travels far without leaving your table. If you grew up on Somali cooking, the bariis iskukaris is spiced and layered the way it should be, and a warm cup of Somali tea rounds out the meal. For a lighter bite, the sambusa is crisp and savory, and the chicken shawarma is stacked, seasoned, and carved fresh. We also cook across cuisines, so you will find a chicken tikka simmered in warm spices and a Philly cheesesteak piled with steak and melted cheese right alongside a plate of chicken biryani.

Beyond the plates, we pour Somali tea, spiced tea, fresh juices, smoothies, and coffee, so there is always something to sip while you relax.
